Haven't you surpassed your States Lemon Law? I'd start pursuing it, if your car qualifies. I don't know the laws in your state, but most states give dealers 3-times, and then sometimes one "last chance" to fix an item before being required to refund full purchase funds, including tax, etc.

Not a great thing to have to get out of your car in certain circumstances, especially in an emergency. I'd be pretty peeved.

It's a simple mechanical mechanism. I think they should have left it mechanical.

There are times here in San Francisco or in Oakland, when parked on a hill, when I'll shut off the vehicle and it will roll 1/4 of a tire revolution (about 4 to 5 inches). To me, I'm cringing at the stress that's putting on the transmission, which is in park.

It's a bad design, unless it's intelligent to the point where it can realize the E-brake must be applied with more tension on a hill, than on a flat street.

Anyway, 6-times? Come on...I couldn't imagine!!

Time to call BMWNA and say you want your money back...at least threaten them with pursuing a lemon law case and see what their reaction is. You may be very surprised.

Does this same thing affect all MY models ? Or is it something related to introduction of auto hold...btw does auto hold use the parking brake ?
