yup! i got parking brake malfunction too LOL
so before i got the e70 i read that some 07 and 08 models get this error sometimes. i thought 09 would be better. after owning the car for almost 1 year it just happened today. after waiting and restarting the car a few times the error went away and i was able to drive. i almost went to manually release it. it was about -10c outside i wonder if the cold had something to do with it.
anyone else got this problem and took it to dealer? what did the dealer fix? thanks. |
wow hadn't heard about this since firmware release around mid '09 (or was it '08?)... what is your manufacture date? Just report it and grab the latest firmware from your dealer.

My 2010 35D Handbrake failed after 3 weeks (400 miles) and ...
BMW Germany have now issued a new compliance fix that must be followed when the handbrake cables are reconnected to mechanical side of handbrake. Apparently there's an issue with the current X5 where handbrake cable can rub on body of vehicle .. not good.
In my case this has meant my X5 has been off the road for 2 weeks so far, and all parts are not yet here (I live in Australia). This could take another 2 weeks to sort out. Suffice to say I'm pissed ..... with a dash of buyer remorse (and to put into perspective - we pay around $120k Aus for new 35d, and the Aus to US dollar is about the same these days!!!:wow: |
