I am not trading in my oil burner! I think that adding 35i BMW created a compelling option to diesel, which 30i was not. However it still lacks fuel efficiency of the diesel and torque. Never thought I'd say that, I guess I am getting older, but I don't feel I need more power in a car like X5. Plenty of torque and acceleration for city driving and adequate pick up at highway speeds. I don't have anything to tow, so that could be a reason for bigger diesel. And for pure exhilaration I will get a small sports car when I have enough free time to actually take it out to the track. Not with two toddlers at home!
Did I mention that this is the only car my wife said she actually loved? And that after complaining about an 3-series, Acura RDX, and an E-class. I know I was taking a gamble with the diesel, but figured that if she is going to complain anyway, might as well get a car I like!
