Thanks for your reply!

For the past two months I have been in denial over satisfaction with my 2009 X5 3.0i but the truth is the X5 just doesn't give me that uumph I was looking for. The car looks and rides ok and despite what has been reported by others, accelerates okay but the X-factor (no pun intended) just isn't there. I have yet to make the decision to ditch the X but it is tempting.

If the wheels are still available, put me down, love those wheels..

- BMW OEM 21" 128 Wheels with Tires. The right front wheel has a very small nick on it. The other three are perfect. I will also throw in a spare front wheel. It has never been mounted. This wheel is almost mint, but it had a paint chip on it so the dealer had to eat it so I got it super discounted. (A new wheel would cost you $750)

You obviously are not comparing the X5 4.8i to a new 328i. Unfortunately, I've been doing a lot of driving in 328i's and really hated the lack of oomph and handling that it has (and I had a 328i that I really liked for many years before I bought my X5). There is obviously no comparing an X5 to an M5 though... My comments are just the way the 328i drove.

Congrats on the M5. Now i wonder if you would have done the same thing if u had an X5M or X6M...

This was another guy comparing his 3.0 X5 to an Acura MDX...

I had no complaints about the X, I just didn't love driving it the way I love driving a car. I would never compare and X5 to an M5...that would be like comparing apples to oranges.

If I could have kept the X5 and still bought my M5 I would have for sure.

1. Why buy an SUV for driving enjoyment? (I have an M5 and a 996TT for that.)

2. $57k for trade? How much 'trunk money' is BMW paying dealers for each E60M5 these days??? DO NOT think that a dealer pays BMWNA "invoice" for those cars..... the trade in valuation is only half of the deal- without knowing the other half it is meaningless.

Enjoy!

Yes, an X5 and M5 (or M3) is my preferred combination... :)

The X5 M would have been the right car, especially with kids. The M5 is fast but outdated, the new model is just around the corner.

At least $10k in dealer cash on new M5's right now.
