ORDERED: FULLY LOADED 2011 X5 3.5 Diesel...

$80,275 is the magic number. Alpine White/Black Perf. Nevada with Dark Bamboo Trim.

I do not get the side/top-view camera's according to this bulletin:

We have been informed by the factory that they are experiencing supplier restrictions regarding options 5DK (Side-view camera) and 5DL (Side and Top View Cameras). These options were included in ZDA (Driver Assistance Package), ZTP (Technology Package) and ZCE (Camera Package).

Now, the $80,275 number does NOT include the eco-credit/BMW CCA credit...But considering that I paid $70,370 for my fully-loaded 2008 X5 3.0si, this price (approx $74k over 2008) is fairly steep, but the goal is to recover that $4k difference in gas...

We spent $1,560 in gas in 2008 (don't drive too much) and averaged about 15 mpg. I expect the average to improve to 21 mpg (40% improvement).

Delivery: On/about four weeks from now...It's ready to go into production any day/hour.

No...Production hasn't started yet. Mine will be in the first batch due to be in the dealers mid to late April.

I came THIS close to just holding off on placing the order, but I was hedging the $4,500 eco-credit against the camera's...I came down on the side of money. Besides, I'm guessing that everything can be retrofit...

Way to go, but if I was that far up there I would have thrown a few more thousand down and bought the X5M. Last year I spent $ 5566.00 in gas, and I average around 18-22.

I debated even getting the diesel...The X5M (fully configured) would have been just over $100k if memory serves...I just couldn't justify this (for my wife) as the car will rarely get driven over 75 mph; nor, for that matter will the acceleration (of the diesel) ever get tapped...My wife has a light-foot...

Between the money factor & residual of the X5M (zero incentives), it just didn't make sense for her...Don't confuse that with "I" didn't want it:)

^^ The 35d is a torque monster so it's ok.. It just sounds pricey and if you got a steal of a deal in the end it's great. It's unfortunate that the top view is supposedly in 'limbo" right now for all '11 models

I was driving in the country today, and I am still amazed how quick and easy it is to pass with my 35d... it's power exceeded my expectations.

i'm content for now with the 3.0 I got... It's a big change from my modded 335i coupe but it's ok. the trade off for space and comfort was worth it.
