Hit 87K today. Major is a relative term in my X5's case. I have had many small issue's, some of which still remain. Almost every item covered under warranty.

87K? damn.

49,500 on my 2008. no real issues. all complaints dealt with readily thru warranty.

278,000+ still using the original motor, transmission, front & rear diff., transfer case, and clutch. I have replaced all 4 window regulators, once the drivers door twice. Water pump went out last year. Lots of tires, brakes and oil. The biggest expense was replacing one of the front axles because the CV boot cracked and joint broke. So far mostly maintenance, and upgrades. I am currently working on upgrading my headers. My experience tells me that if you drive them hard they will last longer.

45k on my '07 X5 and no problems but purchased an extended warranty anyway.

My 2007 X5 clocked at 32,9xx with relative minor issues. Still in love with the ride.

33K on my '08 X5. No issues.

do you guys think problems arise 90% on mileage and not age? I'm barely at 13k after 3 years (home everyday) and probably won't go for the extended warranty. Also wonder if mostly city driving for that mileage is bad as say 50k of regular usage.
