how come bmw doesn't offer bumper protective films as an option?
neither is any other car company AFAIK. wouldn't it be easier to offer it as an option so it can be installed at the assembly line? also more revenue... makes more sense, no? i've owned my e70 for over a year now and up close my bumper has tiny rock chips everywhere. hiring someone to do it after buying the car is a huge pain.

Most customers don't care.
Why add that cost to the car? THey are taking out the read cargo cover from the 2011 X5s to save $150... |

We put bumpers on cars to protect the bodywork, then we put plastic covers on the bumpers to protect the bumpers now we are talking about film on the plastic!! where will it all end ?

Car condoms will be available soon. They should offer more than adequate protection, however they do come with a warning that a second method should be employed.

ok i get what some of your are saying. BUT, then why bother with paint? we can just buy X5s with plain textured plastic bumpers. to me the x5 is like a work of art. seeing paint chips makes me cringe inside.

Then you better place your order before BMW hears you say that. Prices have a way of skyrocketing just when you need an item most.
