X5d underside photos

Lots of beautiful photos of the tops of cars, didn't see any of the underside. So, onto my service pit, and a few shots. I didn't remove any covers. 211 miles. Not the adaptive suspension, which is my only order-sheet regret.

Under the engine cover:

I was surprised the jack point is (very heavy duty) plastic:

Under the trans:

Post-catalytic converter sensor (not its official name, just my description):

The back, from the front:

Rear end parts are beefy:

Anyway, the covers look really good... :D

Many thanks to all of you who post and comment here. I've been lurking since I ordered this one 3 months ago, and I'm truly enjoying my first BMW.

I have a 2011 X35d without adaptive drive also -I do not have this black linkage on the lower A arm and just behind the rear stabilizer bar. Autoques 08 doesnt have it too (3rd post)
Anyone know what it could be?

I think I have that. Look at the second last photo.

Whoa... you're right.

Seems like there should be a bolt or something connected but it's missing.

What's the dealer gotta say about that?

autoque 08-24-2010 04:47 PM

BigAl, do you have that photo in a higher resolution?

chip4 08-24-2010 04:49 PM

Im guessing its for the transducer for the Active Roll / Electronic damping of Active Drive. Maybe the pictures are not of Big Al's car since he mentioned he dint have Active Drive.
