Does the x5 get looks or attract attention??

Just Curious from the current owners. I am very excited to get mine and I was just wondering if pople get above average on any compliments, gas stations talks, thumbs up, heads turn? Just curious on the overall response from other people. I have a 335xi sedan black on black with 35% tinted windows and I NEVER get looks. I know this is a dumb question but just wondering.

not really especially since my X5 is all stock.

The main time that I get comments is when I'm at the station filling the X with the diesel pump. Dudes in big F-350's and Silverado's drive by half snickering that "you know you're putting diesel in your bimmer?". I say yeah and a 5 minute conversation ensues.

My '01 E53, gets a few looks on occasion: it still looks very good for a decade old design, it's in very good cosmetic condition,
and it has that Roundel on the front and back. I think some E70s look great; some look like soccer wagons, imo.

If no one looked, or wondered "what year is that", and was surprised to hear "it's 9 years old", I would not care...it is/has been a Titz car for us.

Mostly at the gas stations ;)

Most of the times at the gas stations - commenting that I am filling the wrong fuel :)
Once I say its a diesel X5 then the conversation starts .

+1 for the gas station diesel comments/chats.

Although, I get some looks from other X5 drivers when they see the Vredestein treads.

But at the end of the day, the streets are littered with X5's (atleast in Toronto).

I actually tend to get quite the few looks coming down the road. I'm thinking mostly due to the Corona rings / Halos. Along with that, mine is Alpine White, so I think it enhances the Corona ring effect.

I don't even have LED's in them yet either!

In addition to that, before I had mine, I used to look at nice (the ones people take care of) BMW's and admire them, so I think people are noticing them in general.

It's a classic vehicle.

It did in 2001, and 2002, when it was a new concept. When I bought my E53 in 2003, that had pretty much ended, unless I was driving up-country in an area with no BMW dealers.

agreed, somebody thought my 2004 X5 had less than 10k miles (i have 83k now :D)

I get compliments all the time, but then again, i'm in college. It's a rare car to see on campus, especially up here in the middle of nowhere. If you mod your car correctly i think you can get looks

Nice to see another Big Red fan on the board ;) It's the right car for the weather up there :)
