good luck! It will be interesting to hear your impressions of the TDI!!! Hopefully, Porsche will roll out a Cayenne diesel!

Night Blue Metallic with Saddle is my build.

Very impressive, perhaps slightly more 'modern' than the X5. It was (is?) a tough decision but in the end the T ended up being about $7000 less than the X...maybe more if the Eco credit disappears for 2012.

I think, under your circumstances, this is a good choice. I too considered the T but at the time it had two strikes going in: first year production (not an issue for you) and aggressive pricing on the X5 (now not so much for you). The third strike was I didn't like the VW dealer's way of doing business, too much pressure, manager T/O, repeated phone calls, emails, etc. Some of this I can take but they went a little far.

In driving, they have their give and take. The Ecks is more sporty, the Vee more luxury. A bit softer overall feel, more luxury for the VW. I think it's a little overpriced for its market niche but time will tell on this. VW is definitely aggressive in its market strategy so it's likely better minds than mine figured out what they should price at.

Good luck.

I made the decision to go for the X. I prefer the sportier ride to the softer ride and as 'beautiful' as the T interior is, it was a bit too glitzy for my taste. It was a great car though and I am sure that I would have been happy with it if I had gone down that road.

Ordered the X5 yesterday and awaiting its production date now.

Good luck with the VW! The TDI was on my final list of three. The interior was absolutely superb as was the fit/finish.

I didn't choose the VW because I was a tad too tall to get a perfect view of the instrument panel and (no joke) the vehicle stalled out and wouldn't restart on a test-drive. Since I have bad luck with cars, I didn't want that bad omen hanging over my head.

EDIT: Just realized you went with the X. That's what happens before the first cup of coffee kicks in. Sorry about that. :p:
