My mistake....

tunning is when you smack the DDE with a large fish.

ard 03-15-2012 02:25 PM

OP- Don't take offense...I can't write or speak greek, so you're one (or more) up on me.

^^ I agree, its all fun and games until ard smacks the DDE with a large fish.

OP, so you were actually asking about a specific car that was already tuned.

Do you know WHAT was done to the car? In writing... "DDE was tuned by XYZ with their HDHFD program"

Given that this is a used car, there is a whole host of issues besides tuning that would concern me. You should assume that it no longer will be covered by the BMW drivetrain warranty. (Not sure what this is in Cyprus) What kind of driver was the prior owner? Are you getting the car inspected before purchase?

It's not so much the "shifting at full throttle" as it is what happens before and after the shift. The engine and tranny control modules will handle the shift. The extra wear and tear comes from the heavy foot that got it to full throttle in the first place. ;)

For starters the disclaimer... I understand everyone has their own opinion on this and i am simply stating mine.

I have a 600hp+ car that is unreal, i luv it. I built it myself and designed many of the parts,

I also have a 2012-35D, i just dont see the point in tuning these vehicles. It is an SAV, not a car. I luv the car like feel to this 5000+lb vehicle but common, it is still a SAV or truck or whatever u wanna claim it is. For sure, it is not a car. All these high speed posts, what the hell are you expecting when you take an SUV up to those speeds??? If you loose control there is no spinning, u will flip, likely die, and possibly kill someone else.

I was tempted to get the X5M, but then i remembered the purpose of the vehicle. I snowboard, mountain bike and i wanted good fuel economy and seldon fill-ups.

Now this is just an opinion, and maybe a waste of space, but seriously?

^^^ We agree, and I've been tempted to say the same...but not everyone has 2, 3 cars to play with.... you've got to keep in mind that many only have one from which all their automotive desires must be realized. (Looks, power, sound, etc....)

Once you accept that, the rest follows. :)
