Your mechanic is spouting nonsense. The light doesn't have a memory, it has a contact. Sounds like an independent mechanic, not a dealer-trained mechanic.
As long as you are referring to the brake pad wear light, and if you replaced the sensor, then if it is still on you likely have a bad connection where the sensor plugs in, or a bad sensor (which happens if you buy the cheap aftermarket ones). |
I figured as much, it was oem bmw but il check connections, so the light should turn off?

Was a bad sensor shop ordered and replaced all good now

Was the faulty sensor actually in a BMW box and from a dealer, or was it a copy that claimed to be from an OEM to BMW?

I suppose it is a better story than "oh, we didn't plug it in all the way" :) Edit: I wrench...so I know that 'stuff happens'...to just make up stories, like "Oh you drove it around too long - the reset wont take" does not sit well with me... when someone is willing to lie about stuff that really is of no consequence, it makes me nervous... just a comment. |
