Lots of people have done this, a quick search should tell you all you need to know.

same exactly unit in play? I'm seeking opinions and takes, i want to hear some pros and cons with people whom installed them.

most importantly, I'm fairly savvy about tuning, had a few track cars and motorcycle under my belt, not to blow my own horn with that statement.

But, I'm better asking people on here to get some feedback, if any one care to chime in, that would be great!

Yes lots of people on here use that exact same unit, It works people are happy with it.

If you try a quick search you will find tons of threads on how it works and owners reviews on it.

strange, I used JBD at search, didn't work at all...hmmm..

I added a few more links, I have an actual tune so I can't comment on the JBD but if you are under warranty I would go that route it would be easy to just pull it out before visiting the dealership. I read about it after i had my tune and it seemed like a great option but I got my tune the same day as I got the truck so it was too late.

that was the idea i had in mind as well, easy access for dealership visiting

I got caught with my tune in, they couldn't tell until they test drove it and they said it was the fastest non-M X5 they had seen so they said it had a "chip" I just played dumb and they still fixed my truck under warranty....but said they wouldn't do it again unless my chip was removed....:rolleyes:
