Way to go! So all you needed was the bumper and fender flares for the retrofit? That's awesome. Thanks for blazing the trail. What is the name of the shop that did it? I might just be calling them. And if you don't mind, PM the the install/paint cost as well. |

....and I'm 110% satisfied with the work that they did. I look at my X5 and smile every day. The Vorsteiner lip goes on this weekend. |
Vorsteiner lip installed. My truck needs a wash, but you get the gist! Not the best picture quality (..iPhone5....sun's blazing....etc.), so I'm going to stop by EAS and have them shoot it again once it's clean.

Looks Hawt! But just wondering, how much did all the mods cost, what is the diff. left from the cost of an X5m?

Hmmm......are you referring to front end mods only? About $1300 in OEM parts, $1500 for the Vorsteiner lip and I'll keep labor costs to myself (..it was a hook-up from a friend). I didn't want an X5M. I didn't want the monthly payment associated with it, the horrible gas mileage associated with it, etc. I had just come off of a decade long string of E46 and E9X M3's, so I am no longer concerned with speed. I just wanted the look of the front end, and that was only because there wasn't anything available for the OEM M-Sport bumper. I paid $61k for my truck; a new X5M is easily about 30k more. |
Im with you on this
Same thinking - ordered the front bumper and parts. Had the mechanic look at it last week. Apparently its mostly plug and play EXCEPT for the floor pan which is a bit too long (and needs to be shortened in the front - cheaper than buying the plastic floor pan from the X5M)
In about a month well try the install...... Im going to forgo a Vorsteiner lip as the parking lots here in South Florida eat those things for breakfast. Did you ever consider the LED BMW OEM fog lights that fit in the bumper? RealOEM.com * BMW E70 X5 M Retrofit kit, LED daytime driving lights X5M is a nice car for sure - but its had its share of problems, cost $15k more than mine did (and mine is loaded) and does not have a third row (which I need) |
