What is this loose piece in my trunk?
 

So just picked up the truck the other day, love it. I noticed today while unloading something that there is a loose black plastic piece on the hatch. It was dark out and I will get a better look at it tomorrow but looks like it had a wire connected to it and I could see some type of insulation. Anyways here is a pic illustrating the part.

The part in question is a small, roughly 2x1" black plastic piece located under the latch, center of the lift gate.

Anyone want to chime in what it is. Looks like it just fits in a little slot but its not staying in place. I was going to put a small drop of superglue to keep in place but want to know what it is first.

Looks like the manual release for the lift gate. Access from the interior if you have an electrical malfunction like a flat battery, since the electrically operated hatch won't open in that instance.

agree with above, don't superglue it. ;)
