2007 or 2008
Hello, i have a 2004 X5,
when i first purchased it, i did not gwet the bluetooth module because it was built earlyer in its year. I am now looking forward to buy a used E70 The problem is i do not want to get into timilar trouble! i did alot of ressearching to know what are the differences between 2007 models and 2008. anyone has an input here? i would like to find infos concerning diferences in looks and equipment. (just so if a dealer states its a 2008 i can spot the lie (pretty common where i live) i would most probably go for the 2008 just not to buy in the first year! And also is the bluetooth standard on those E70? |
I'm in the same boat as you

Bluetooth Audio or Bluetooth for phone?
I have a 2007 and it has Bluetooth for the phone but not Bluetooth Audio (for music). My X5 has an Aux plug but not USB. I added a 3.5mm Bluetooth dongle adapter to stream my music from phone to car audio system. Works well. $30 tweak... |
Get a 09 plus with the better idrive

You phone will connect to BOTH car BT and this adapter. Phone bluetooth works perfectly normal, even while being connected to this dongle. |
fyi 2008 bluetooth also does not support music unfortunately. The device above looks like a good alternative (I just don't want to have yet another device to charge). If you can do the new idrive years, that's much improved over our version. Was that 2009 though? I thought it was 2010?

I would pick the better media interface. The first media interface in the e70 kind of sucks. So; if you can afford it, do it.

So quick question... Should I stay away from 2007 models? Only because it was the first model year and also the 2008 and 2009 has better features?

get a 2012...you're going to want those new corona rings.....they'll cost you almost $2k to retrofit.
