Wow, can't believe 15-yr later I can say, "I think I willl miss Chris Bangle". Maybe Adrian Von Hoydonk, just don't get SUV design being an European. Culture is big influence in ID design.

I think I figured out what is wrong with it... The overall profile is much more like the X3 - which I always thought looked like a shoe.

I think the back of the new design looks a little bit like my Honda Odyssey:
|
Reminds me of the E53. Which I have. And which I like. Never did cotton to the E70 in anything but M or M sport trim.
|
Personally I dont think there is enough appeal in the design..
For me to love a car you need to look at it from more than just one angle and be able to say "I really like the look of this car" and put a smile on your face! I remember when I had an e39 i'd walk up to it and think it was such a timeless design whether you talk up to it from the front, rear , or side.. If you have to hunt around the car and look for your hero view then to me it really isn't so pretty.. to me I can hardly find a view of the exterior that i "love" Interior on the other hand is completely different. I love it! |

There has definitely been some back and forth between BMW and Honda over the years. |
Definitely going the opposite direction with this design. I was looking in adding a sister to my 05, but I may have to get her a cousin, X6 :dunno:
|
I've seen a few now at the dealer and LA Auto Show. To me, the F15 looks like an E70 that went through the Toyota design studio for a minute before being released.
