G.

With access to a friendly BMW parts manager you can get the following 21" wheels for the X6 (assuming they are the same offset as the X5, which I'm sure they are).

1. 21" Double Spoke Styling 215 - Ferric Grey (Price £3250 including Dunlop SP Sport 01 DSST tyres, FA: 285/35 R21, RA: 325/30 R21)

2. 21" V Spoke Styling 239 - (Price £3250 including Dunlop SP Sport 01 DSST tyres, FA: 285/35 R21, RA: 325/30 R21)

i'm toying with the idea of getting another set of 21"schnitzers that I have on my 6 series for the X6. what do you guys think?

Those ACS ones look nice. My preference on the X6 is for elegant wheels rather than those Style 215 ones (although I really like them).

I suspect the Style 239 wheels would look good on the X6, or otherwise a 5-spoke wheel (as we already have with the 20" Style 259 available as a factory option on the X6) or the ACS wheels on your 650i.

Cheers Steve, i fancy the 3rd ones.....

Thing is, i don't want to shell out £3k+ for another set of wheels, i'd rather upgrade the standard ones....

Are you staying with the 20" s ???

Yes, I think I will stay with the 20"ers since I already have the snow chains to fit them. If I bought the 21" wheels I would need to buy an extra set of wheels when I go skiing..

I am not feeling the round tailpipes look of the diesels & 35i.
Do you think it would be possible to replicate the X50i tailpipes look on the lesser models without making it look like a messy aftermarket job?

Steve, I am seriously considering holding off until the X50i hits the UK as much as it will hurt me financially & passionately when the X6 hits the roads.
It will also allow me to have a good look & test drive before I commit.
I really don't think I will be happy with a diesel, no matter how good they are.

Simon, I am sure it will be possible to alter the tailpipes, my concern is the way they are angled at the side which any aftermarket system would need to replicate accurately.

I am also still debating the merits of petrol/diesel. You can see the topic I started over on pistonheads..

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/t...2&t=480871&i=0

I want to go for the petrol model but the X50i is not available and I'm not sure the 35i will be a good choice in such a big car. I will go ahead with the X6 and in that case it would be easier to trade-in a 35d for the 50i, so I may still stay with my current spec.
