Ok, most of my pictures aren't very good but I guess it adds more to the library. (actually the first two are pretty close to how it looked in practice)

I understand that the height is adjustable, so it doesn't have to go that high.

I still don't like it.... I want to like it... I just don't :(

Hello All

First time posting on here. I had no real interest in the X6 until I saw it in the flesh at the Melbourne Motor Show today. Touched it, sat in it, and absolutely loved it! The one I played with was VR but my personal ideal would be a 35d in sapphire black with saddle brown and bamboo trim.

Previous posters are right, it doesn't look like a big car but it does have enormous physical "presence". It does look better in the flesh than in pictures. The trapezoidal exhausts on the 50i look much better than the round ones on the 35d and the 35i, BMW should standardise these in my view.

I will wait 12 months or so for the hiatus to die down and then..... I think I must have one

Steve,

What's the word on the roof rails that have been seen on test cars, are they an option, and if not, what do we use for fixing roof bars etc ??

Also, i have almost same spec as you coming, and 'think' i have spec'd that shadowline on the windows, and can't for the life of me remember what it is...is it chrome surround windows instead of black, or other wat around ? or something else ?

Yes, the roof rails are optional and a dealer fit. I will consider them once I know the price (which is still unknown). You can see the channels in the roof on the last picture of the white 35d, where I'd assume the roof rails would fit into.

Glenn, if you ordered the 'Dynamic Package' like me (which I'm pretty sure you did) then it comes with the 'High Gloss Shadow Line' trim, so the window surrounds will be gloss black which will look good on red.

It looks better in the metal, but even then its a difficult car to look at and understand. You need to see it in 3D or it doesn't always work, but I'm not joking in saying that it was the most popular car on BMW's extensive display (and they had every car in the range on show). It was constantly being examined by other industry execs, photgraphed, sat-in etc.

One thing I'm not sure I look forward to is that it's going to draw masses of attention when I first drive it on the road. Now I love the X5, but one thing I wasn't expecting is that the X5 looked almost redundant sitting nearby, as if it was suddenly out of date.

:iagree: Several people who did not like it changed their opinion after seeing in person.

How much room is there is the driver footwell compared to the X5? Is this narrower than the X5?
