West Coast Meet Location

Hey, how about we vote and see which location has the most interest.

hayaku 01-12-2006 02:11 AM

only potential problem i see with this is that the core group of organizers will have to be near the actual meeting place to handle local logistics...

so if we vote on a location, does that mean that those nearby are by default the ones responsible with setting up everything? i mean those of us far away can help but not nearly as much as those close by... distance plays a factor in the organizer's ability here i think...

agreed. Good call.

I agree with Hayaku. The location is as much a function of the person(s) willing to take on the planning and logistics. We cannot have a meet in a location where no one lives. The other issue is dealer support. We need a dealer that is willing to help out with $$$. We have been lucky to have had Crevier pony up for food, prizes, and other fees associated with the meet.

I am not unwilling to travel to Santa Barbara or SLO, especially if there is a good deal on hotel, but as Hayaku said, that means someone has to take charge.

Lucky you. If it's in PS, Alaska Airlines has lots of direct flights to PS Airport.

May I mention one other idea please?

On May 20 there is a wine festival in the park in Paso Robles, CA. Last year I stayed at the Embassy Suites in San Luis Obispo. While I was there, the Pacific Sharkfest was occurring (BMW 6-series). The hotel sectioned-off part of their parking lot for the cars and it seemed like folks had a pretty good time.

How about we meet for dinner at McClintocks in Pismo Beach the night before, then spend saturday in the park enjoying the wine festival. Then on Sunday maybe we can organize a drive/caravan home.

Thoughts?

Agree that location should be close to the organizer. Just trying to get a sense of where people would like it to be. So far looks like SoCal is probably the better choice. And especially if Kevin is willing to undertake this venture

Paso Robles...That's sound really good.
