I'm almost tempted to drive down to Juan's for dinner and then to JV's just to make sure no one can take my trophy!
It's mine, It's mine you can't take it from me!
I'm planning on being there overnight too, where y'all planning to stay? I was looking at that Hilton JV posted, the Hilton Old Town Alexandria I think.

C'mon down, Eric! Drex will be staying with us one night also. You should come down, and we can all go out to dinner... AND you can buy me them two beers you owe me! :D Didn't you say you had a bunch of vacation time? :)

I'll have to ask Liz about hotels. She's... "picky" about where she stays.

Juan- I totally feel you on the "picky" aspect. Better hotel = better bed! Usually more $$ but worth it to me for a good night's sleep w/o bedbugs.

The Hilton in Springfield is full service (room service, restaurant on site, Houlihan's, actually), and it's technically closer to the meetin' spot, but the Hilton in Alexandria is nicer and it's in downtown Alexandria, which is very clean, safe and nice.

Eugene told me he booked at the RC in Pentagon City, which is a VERY nice hotel and not outrageously expensive compared to RC in other cities. It's also adjacent to a very nice mall and a Metro (that's what we call the subway here) stop.

There is a Comfort Inn less than 2 miles from the meet, but I already checked, and it's all booked. They host lots of government conferences.

Anyone needing a recommendation or info on hotel, let me know. My advice is to book as early as you can. This is tourist central in the Spring, and rooms do get snatched up.
