Paint bumpers? Urgent!!
Im repainting my X this week, and need to decide wether to paint the lower parts on the the side and the bumpers in the smae color as the car. Its a 2002 3.0i with standard styling. I can not find any pictures where this is done. Only from lighter colored vehicles, like gray white and red.. On those it looks really good. What do you think.? Should i go for it.? Anyone got a picture where this has been done..? I neeed to decide pretty soon.. Thanks.

Well, if you liked the painted bumpers on the other cars then you probably would like it on yours too. You didn't mention but what color do you have?
Personally, I don't usually like the painted trim look but the link above with the sterling gray looks great!

Yeah.. Forgot to mentioned that i have the jet black 668 color..
All the photos i've seen of painted bumpers and trim has looked really good, but as metioned, i havent seen any pictures of a black car done this way.. Thanks for the reply..

That's a good point, but since im repainting the car using the insurence, (because of vandalism) and to add all the lower parts it will only cost me 570 bucks.. Considering that Norway is a very expensive country, this is a bargain.
The total cost of the damages with labour and material added up to a little more than 10000 dollars.. And that is mostly labour..

Hey, if thats what you want then do it! Don't worry too much about if others think it looks good!
 Me, if I'm still paying an extra $570 on top of insurance, I'd take the opportunity to add 4.8 spoilers/bumpers/flares, Aluminum RBs, and ... wait a minute ... that's sounding like my car now!

Youre right.. Id love to get all those things on the X. But then it would take some more time to have it done, and of course it would be a lot more expensive.. Imagin all tose things in US, add the postage to Norway and a 25% extra on the total.. Puuuuh.. Anyways, i dont really know what it will look like.. Thats why im asking about a photo.. I dont want the car to look cheap because of this.. The org. bumpers are fine, but maybe this will be even better... Maybe i should try and photoshop it..

My 2 cents is go for it for 570 bucks. I'm not a fan of the colored bumpers either but your X has matte black bumpers anyway. Its not gonna change the look drastically so for 570, I would do it if it was mine.
