Top job ekvals, that's one mean looking X now. I really like the look of the trim in matching colour. I note you have debadged it also. Good to see you resolved the headlight problem right on time.

If and when you get a sunny day maybe a few more close up pics please.

I'm still keen to know how many coats of colour and clear. Your quote of: "Also if you get scratches, the paint will smooth it out when the sun heats up the paint", you must be talking about very small scratches for that to happen. Can you get hold of any literature on this nano tech you refer to.

What's next?? Maybe a skid pan for the front or as jayjay says fit tail lights like weasels (as per below). Check out his user page also.

The funny thing is he blocked out my plate when I didn't! And tomorrow (today really) I am picking my head light lenses from getting professionally sprayed with a light candy black smoke after I refinished them. If they come out as good as I hope, I'm gonna get the tail lights redone to look even better. (they are currently the cheapo spray can version)

I forgot to ask about how many layers they used. But i know one of the guys, and ill make sure to sak, and post here. Also, about the clear cote. I pretty much only know what i have been told. I read something earlier on the internet, but dont remember where. Apperantly it said something that after 100 machine washes, the nano coat was 40% more glossy then others. ANd i would imagin the scratch part is only for smaller scratches yeah.

The guys in the shop got new trim on the doors and painted them as well. Very happy about that. They also did not attach the X5 badge in case i wanted it off. Think i like it plain.

Weasel taillights looks really good.. Maybe i need to "fix" mine also.

Yeah, thats a long story about a small mishap earlier with a melted headlight. There is another thread about it on the forum. Anyways, after reassembling everything, the big ring on the pass side did'nt work.. So i need to get a replacement.

Got word from the shop now.

Apasrt from the primer, they used two layers of base coat,(the color), plus an "effect" coat.

Then they added three coats of clear coat. Which is one more than usual.

I believe that was just a bonus.. At least they said that they normally just use two coats.

pski215, who's topping the table.

It's going to be an exciting last part of the season.

I would assume the body shop just taped over the actual sensor...
