I say 'go for it', which you are anyway. I quite like the look of same colour all over and have been umming and arring over it for a while. Twins is spot on with not worrying about what others think. Its your car not theirs.

Lets not forget that on this forum the majority of members have done some form of modding whether minor or major and that's what makes our X5's interesting and appealing to ourselves and others (especially us here). If we all just left them stock I think it would be pretty boring and obviously this site wouldn't have the membership and high level of interest that it has.

As long as mods are done with good taste, using approved quality materials and keeping within the BMW ethos and not 'ricing' them out we will always enjoy and admire our own and others handywork.

I realise following pics are not of a black X but it might give you some idea.

Please keep us posted with progressive pics.

Bad idea. You'll see why in a year or two when the rubber parts flex and paint starts chipping off them. Remember all the cars during the Miami Vice era and how all their Zender body panels looked a year later?

Those are 18" by 8 rims.. Anyone know how widw tires i can put on them? And how wide spacers i can approx. use.?

X Foomph: Thanks for the support.. It looks damn good on your car, yet to see how it'll turn out on a black one.. I def. gonna post some pics here after its done...

mgruber: You might be right.. Don't know if im even gonna keep the car for that long, but one can always do minor repaints to touch up later..
As X Foomph mentioned earlier here, there is probably lots of things suggested in this forum that might not be the best solution. But there is reason why this forum is so busy, and i like it.

Thats not xfoomph's X its RPX5s. He mentioned that those were 20" Maya wheels. I'm not sure but I don't think he's using any spacers because of the deep dish depth. Tire size, don't know.
