I just grabbed a 650 on Ebay in brand new condition for $200 until all the noise filters out and the best stands up. I like it...a but clumsy at first but it is getting better. I almost pulled the trigger on the P but there was a few people that said that they like the 650 better so for a couple of bucks I am at least in the game and can upgrade later.

What was it about the 650 they liked better?

I got my 700p 2 weeks ago and its great. I'm glad I waited to get it and pass on the 700w.

Ditto, just got my Treo 700p and yes the BT pairs with the BMWs. Love the extra RAM and the fact that Docs to Go is built-in and still have over 60MB free before I start. Now I have 40MB free with all the stuff imported from my old Treo 650. The EV-DO is fabulous and the phone reception appears to be much better. The volume on the phone is better and I don't think I need the "Volume Care" program like I did on the 650.:thumbup:

On your Verizon CD "install first CD", there is a Palm program called Palm Files. Also, there is a freeware called "Filez" which you can get from mytreo.net

I want to make a update re: BMW Visteon Bluetooth and Treo 700p.....it seems to pair, but the it won't work correctly....can't dial out or receive calls 100% of the time. The Treo 700p doesn't seem to keep the connection well and the Visteon ULF doesn't seem to like the Treo 700p bluetooth connection. When it pairs, I constantly get a yellow light on the dashboard (you know, there are yellow, red, green lights next to the radio/nav display). My old VZW Treo 650 with firmware 1.04 worked fine. Hopefully, Palm will release a new firmware addressing this issue with the older BMW ULF. The funny thing, on Palm's website, states that the Treo 700p (Verizon or Sprint) doesn't support BMW TCU (Motorola) which is what is on the 2005+ BMWs. But, it sounds like you got yours to work!

The trouble i have is figureing out how to use the system in the X5. I have a voice module which i have not configured to dial numbers as of yet and the X has some strange requirements in order for you to dial the number you see under the instrument cluster. Sometime it dials the previous number instead or some other number. But I will take the time and figure it out.

All the current VZW Motorola phones pairs well with all BMW Bluetooth. Can't figure out why Palm would be dumb enough not to create the right BT drivers. Currently, the Treo 700p is NOT supposed to work with Toyota/Lexus, Acura, & BMWs. I think they probably mean the BMW Bluetooth with Visteon. Because on other forums, the Treo 700p works with a 2006 325i with no problems.

Your BT/Voice Recognition module has its own phone book system that you have to manually program names for numbers. I think the command is "add name" and then follow the prompt. Look at the X5World Bluetooth Articles section for more info.
