Thanks. I know the process for the voice module. What I need is the time to do it. OBTW that yellow light in the upper right hand corner of the Navi indicates my phone book is active and waiting for me to choose a number to dial. It shows all the numbers in my speed dial.

Did a search within Treocentral.com and bimmerboard.com's bluetooth forum and there is consensus that the Verizon Treo 700p does not pair well with BMW Visteon Bluetooth system (the pre-2005 BMW bluetooth). Nevertheless, it doesn't work with Audi or Toyota/Lexus. I did make an error, the Treo 700p does work with the Honda/Acura systems. Palm states they are working on a patch for the bluetooth compatability.

well, I've had my Palm for 3 days, and so far, so good. I am not convinced I like Verizon's cellular service, but the EVDO rocks. X5world looks better (obviously) in WAP mode.

anyone using straight PUSH email? I am using chatteremail's trial as a test. my intention (Charles!) is to avoid using a pager and a cell phone, and have the convience of a PDA so I can access my EMR and calendar (both WAP capable).

Dr. K- do you have a need to carry a pager at all? do you use an alpha-numeric pager? [remember, as a surgeon in solo practice I will live and die by lack of connectivity on demand].

Anyone else using PUSH and SMS instead of antiquated pager devices?

the other issue I am having is that other than 1 person I know, everyone (literally everyone I talk to) uses Cingular. and, i don't want to carry two cell phones), so....

I've had my 700p for a couple of weeks and my main reason for upgrading was PUSH email and wireless syncing of my calendar. I had been carrying around a cell phone and a palm device for years and I wanted to combine them into one device. I also really liked the idea of automatic wireless syncing which would mean I would no longer have to worry about whether my info was up to date.

I had never used SMS before getting the 700p, but based on my brief experience, there is very little delay between the time someone sends me a message and the time I receive it. I used this feature quite a bit during a recent conference to communicate with a couple of colleagues (one had a 700p, the other had a Moto E815) while we were attending different seminars.

What issues are you having with Verizon? I've been using Verizon for years and I'm very happy with them.

not real *issues*, just doesn't seem call clarity is as good; this could be a function of the palm.

called another verizon customer (ekaz) and he did not recognize my voice (he didn't have the new # yet); 'damn dude, was that you who left the vm?'...

Could be a problem w/the phone. I had a CPT9000 (Moto v60) and the sound quality was HORRIBLE when I was driving - my secretary couldn't understand my messages half the time. I upgraded to the Moto E815 w/BT and voice quality immediately improved. Voice quality with my 700p seems to be as good as w/the E815 - but my Office Manager has a 700p and HER voice quality really sucks sometimes - not all the time, but much more often than mine does. Her 700p also resets itself alot. I've told her she needs to exchange it for another phone.

Just piping in with my 2cents. Signal strength bars in the BMW are not full strength either but that dosen't matter because although BMW bluetooth connection was working until a few days ago, now even with the car off the BMW appears in the 700P device setup window not the trusted window. It has a headphone icon next to it which seems to me to indicate that the 700P is seeing the X as a headset and that may be the reason i cant hear the number dialing or anyone speaking when the call is connected. Speed dial numbers are downloaded though. I did get a Motorola HS-850 to pair this morning, so my only hurdle is to find out what the glitch is with the X5 pairing with the 700P like it use to. No it's not the X. Last night i went outside and paired a Razr and everything went great.

FWIW I also see the headset icon on the 700p and I'm hearing everything I'm supposed to hear when I'm in the X5.

The only thing that's not happening is the phonebook isn't getting transferred - not a problem for me since I have the SES module (which has its own phonebook) so I never use the 700p's phonebook anyway when I'm in the car.
