Starting to look like you need to change phone. One last try is to send a contact to another phone/laptop to make sure it is working.

Later consider a phone that support the PBAP bluetooth profile, which most do these days.

or the car :D

joking aside, the contacts transfer between bmw and toshiba works every time...

regarding the laptop connection, active sync (for those familiar with Windows Mobile) does not work every time when I try to sync over BT...

sorry, I would not beat the poor dead horse any more, but for me is a mystery why I can get it to work if I connect the phone while the car is on (but if I switch on phone's BT before turning the car on, it does not work properly) :dunno:

It's because the Bluetooth connection is being put into deep sleep by the car, and the phone is not detecting the missing master on the piconet and clearing down the parked channel. It's a bug in the powersave mode on the phone.

do you have a solution for this? or maybe you can direct me to the forum where the solution is being discussed/elaborated?

I suspect it to be the problem with WM powersave, and I tried a BTkeep_alive software - it did not help ;(

I don't have a guaranteed solution. My only suggestion would be a later ROM than WM6.5. But it's not something I've tried, my last WM phone was a SPV600 on WM 5.

well since my first attempt I have upgraded twice the ROM
now I am running on WM 6.5.5, and nothing changes in those updates in regards to BT operation...it is like people at WM cannot be bothered :(

I'm sorry but I think my knowledge is exhuasted. My only suggestions are to find a WM forum, or try another phone.

thank you
I am of course following the development on XDA-developers, but to be honest no one is interested in this (maybe BMW is not popular among WM users?)

I even downgraded to WM 6.1 yesterday - the same problem :(
