Windows Mobile 6.5 and BMW

hi, I have a WM 6.5 phone (toshiba TG01) and am trying to connect it with 2005 X5

pairing goes ok
phonebook transfer ok
incoming call rings, but no audio on either side
outgoing call seems to be the same (I do not hear it ringing, but been told by the party that it rings) - no audio
random disconnect is an issue as well
no sms transfer

if anyone managed to get it working between WM 6.5 and BMW ULF please help

BTW on E60 with idrive the phone works perfect (apart from minor issue - the phone icon does not apear next to signal strength image on the screen of the car)

Sounds like your Bluetooth Connection is not strong enough, in My X5 I have to place the phone inside the rest arm compartment or extremly close to it to get a solid connection where I can make and receive calls (this is awkward if you have a large mobile as the holder was designed for the smaller mobiles of the period... Mine is a 2004 X5 and I use my N95 telephone all the time...

My phone barely squeezes into the compartment with the holder removed, I normally half close the cover for the drinks holder just below the armrest and place it on top for a solid connection...

I also notices that sometimes it takes a while to connect fully, so give it a few minutes before attempting to make a call...
If the mobile is not close enough you might appear to receive calls and have access to your phone book but won't have enough juice to actually communicate with anyone...

thank you for a prompt reply, but I think you have a different problem...regarding the signal strength - the antenna is in the boot so no matter where you put your phone while in the drivers seat, it will be the same distance from the antenna +/-

If my previous suggestion does not work then I can only assume that there is a compatability problem, I believe there is a list somewhere of compantable phones but newer models should work with most wavebands...

Do you have a pairing button in the armrest? If so I would suggest putting the phone in there and giving it a try, thats what it said in my BMW telephone booklet (It also said that the range is limited) Give it a try you don't have anything to lose...

EDIT:

The other reason is maybe the bluetooth is compatable but the phone isn't, I have heard of this before... When I use my phone the headphones come on my phone like I am using a bluetooth dongle device, is a bluetooth dongle device compatable with your phone?

I am sorry but I did not understand that last part of your question, please explain

Some call it hands free? when you enable bluetooth and have that thing stuck around your ear (wirelessly)...

does your mobile support a bluetooth hands free kit? If not then that maybe the reason you are not receiving or giving out sound...

I still suggest you check the 1st option though...
