What are you looking to buy? I'll tell you now since I used Mothers mag polish and synthetic wax about 6 years ago, the brands Phil sells will blow those out of the water.

Shoot him an email [email protected] with what you're looking for and he can make some recommendations.

I will say that you better be good at correcting paint, Opti Coat is best on finishes that are 95-100% corrected before applying, and with an IPA wipe down before application.

I use the Mag polish on my knives, also on the chrome and metal pieces on my semi and pickup truck. The synthetic wax, well, i use it to wax my vehicles lol. Im actually going to be repainting it in a couple months (refurbishing the paint booth) so I'll probably do it afterwards. I'll have to email Phil and see what he has that's good for my Freightliner Classic XL

What, in your professional opinion, would you recommend to clean and protect my Freightliner Classic XL? I did a custom paint job on it and want to protect it and keep it looking good. It goes through a lot of construction zones so I want to protect the truck from the debris as well as your typical every day weather conditions and paint fade.

Phil, whats the difference between the opticoat 2.0 and the stuff for headlights (besides the obvious name). Can I use the opticoat 2.0 I ordered on my headlights as well or is there some kind of "magical" difference?

Btw, I just want to thank you again for taking care of my ordering blunders! (Won't happen again!)

Phil-- I have XPEL ultimate film--When polishing and detailing needs come around, how do i handle the film? I would be scared to put an orbital to it.

Phil I'm trying to get my combinations right for pad/polishes, just making sure I know what I'm able to use with what to get the best of each product:

FG400 - Currently I would use this with Megs MF cutting pads only, or Uber Orange/Yellow if I need anything that the below combos can't take care of

SF4000 - I use with Uber Green (I don't have any Uber Blue) pads, or for heavier defects but don't want to compound I can use Uber Orange with SF4000 as well?

Sonax Perfect Finish - Uber Orange only (should I try any other pad with the product?)

How does that all look to you? Also, I've heard that Perfect Finish does better as a one step on Japanese black paints what is your experience? I did my wife's 2011 Rav4 with an Uber Green and SF4000 before winter but did not make enough passes or did not use an aggressive enough pad/polish combo to get most of the defects out.

blue will not really be for defects but it will bring out the paint if you use the SF4000 with it.

Sonax Perfect Finish will work with any of the pads depending on your goal same with the FG400.

I just did an Alpine White with using only FG400 and it finished down great with an Uber Green Pad!

Wow that's great advice I never though of using the Green pad with FG400.

Thanks Phil will let you know how it comes out I will try to get some pics of the process. Her car is coming out of the bodyshop in the next week or two and I'm sure will have plenty of rotary swirls and holograms.

I am most likely going to do a pass of FG400 and MF cutting pad, and then step down to Uber Green with SF4000 or Sonax PF on the Uber Green.

Her car is black so it needs it. My X5 will probably be fine with just Perfect Finish and the Uber Orange or Uber Green as I did 2 passes of D300 with MF cutting pad in late 2012, got to about 85% corrected.
