I've used Mother's Back to Black on those pieces on the B & C pillars with great results. Read the directions, use the proper applicator and you'll get it lookin' nice. If your local auto parts store doesn't have it, they can order it, or you can try here:

Mothers Back to Black is more for rubber trim IMO.

I treat those pillars like I treat paint - polish & wax. Strange though how they tend to discolor faster than paint though. Just thinking outloud but methinks it's possible that it's colored aluminum non CC'ed so it just oxidixes faster. Never really gave it much thought but that does make sense .......

I find that Zaino Z2 works great for removing the oxidation and bringing back the shine.

B & C Pillar Appliques

BMW also makes an applique for the B & C Pillars in a CARBON FIBER finish that looks pretty cool in the pics I've seen. I think it would depend on the color of the vehicle how good it looks though.........
I've seen them in the accessories catalog that BMW has for the X5. I think they retail at $129.99 for 6 pieces.
Just a thought if you can't find anything to bring them back to the original shine.........

I used it about 2 months ago, put 4 coats on, it's still looking like I just applied it.
