I would like to see someone design led tail lights to allow us to keep the extra bright brake light feature. By extra bright I mean the feature that I read in my manual about that the brake lights will come on extra bright in extra heavy braking situations which I think include when the abs kick on. What is that feature called anyways? Whatever it is I'd like that on my aftermarket led tail lights so I don't loose any factory designed safety features. Maybe this has already been discussed or considered?

The connector block in pre-facelift and post facelift is the same, its the wiring thats slightly different and it only requires a swap of 1 wire withing the connector block. Its simple to do only took me a few seconds to do when I swapped my 03 lights for the facelift ones. As for brake force lights, that is most likely inbuilt in your X5's system not the tailight, and if anything will only require a swap of a 2 element bulb for a one element.

still waiting for some high-res pics guys. in case ur wondering y i don't take my own pics,
i no longer own my X5; so, i'm relying on u all to provide me some. thanks. this is the email that was sent to me from the company that i contacted : "Sorry for my delayed response, I have been very busy with some of our new design projects. We can custom make LED tail lights for a reasonable price in quantities as low as 25-50. However, a lot of newer cars have their taillight housings completely sealed, making it imposible to install a LED taillight kit. Let me know exactly what model you would like lights for as well as some information on the taillight itself (pictures would be very helpful)."
