Have you had any luck contacting Simon via his email. I emiled him twice for the tracking number for my lights and no response...

My factory bulbs fit just fine! You shouldn't have an issue with it.

The X5 seems to be super finicky with aftermarket parts, especially with the lighting, and especially on the 03.

The bulbs are junk. Find a high quality replacement.

Think of it this way, the Xenon bulbs and turn signals were only $30 more with the price of the headlights. What do you think you are going to get for $30? The Xenon bulbs are usually $60 to $70 a piece. Don't skimp, get a good quality bulb. Get a Philips or similar quality part.

6000k Phillips Bulb

Don't do 8000k. Functionally they are junk and product a lot less light.

I stick with 4300K. It gives the best light output.

Just thought I'd let everyone know that I finally had a chance to install the headlights last night. WOW, they are very very nice. The quality is definitely on par with the OEM headlights which is great.

The halos are beautiful and are VERY bright, you'll definitely get noticed at night (hopefully the cops won't care). Overall it's a great product that really updates the look of the 2000-2003 X5s.

Well worth the $$$ in my opinion, even just to get rid of all the pit marks from your old lenses from years of use on the roads. I used the stock Xenon ballasts & bulbs and they work great.

Out of the box the headlight alignment was pretty good. I did adjust them slightly to what my factory lenses were but overall if you don't feel like messing with adjusting them you shouldn't have any problems.

You'll note that these have the ECE beam pattern so you'll notice street signs and other things being more visible at night. This isn't a defective product or lense, this is by design. European X5s have this beam pattern and its very nice.

Overall a really nice product for the money. Since its 50 degrees today I'm going to finish up the wiring and get everything ready for winter...

If you are on the fence, buy these. They are a great addition to the X5.

got mine today.
Concerning your AE question, the ring is not filled with LEDs. There are 5 fittings per AE ring.
Maybe I have other specs, but my DEPO part number is the same as the other mentioned here, they look like the pics posted, thus .....
Can please somebody else confirm?
Maybe there are just brighter LED's than yours .....?

I've been extremely happy with these DEPO lights. But the AE's on mine are not LED and I do wish to have brighter AEs. I did not want to open these lights to replace the AE and risk having condensation problem (which I had before with other crappy lights). So I will be interested to hear the feedback on this from you guys as well.

I'm thinking of the same wiring set-up as yours.
But, to be sure, did you use 2 seperates relays?
If not, if I'm correct, e.g. the light under the driver side kick panel will also be illuminated when your (trigger) tail light is powered?
