Snow Tires Year Round
I have my snow shoes on my X5 right now, they are almost new. Will the snows wear out faster, or just not grip/handle as well or what? I was going to swap tires only (same rims), but it's gonna be near $75-$80 bucks to do that, and I'd be doing it twice a year. That vs buying some new summer rims and tires for probably $1200 or so (might be able to get my tire place to mount/unmount tires already on rims for free). Thoughts? |

If you're not into doing the seasonal switching, why wouldn't you run with a set of good all-seasons? I've read here that dedicated snows do not do well on hot summer pavement.

Agreee.....with Stan.... Dedicated snow tires are made from different type of compound which will wear faster on dry warmer climates, not to mention that they will not handle as good as all season or summer tires..... my suggestion buy a set of wheels so it will be easier and cost effective to change over......... its almost like wearing your Timberline boots in the summer
