I always found it funny, BMW of San Diego for some odd reasons is ranked low in CSR's but they have tons of rental cars and always bend over backward for me, so I guess it boils down to personal experiance?

Each individual dealership can do this however they like. My local dealership in Pensacola ALWAYS gives me a loaner. They do, however, have a sign up that says they only give loaners to those who have bought their BMW's from them.

Sun Motor Cars in PA, gave me a rental out of state and I didn't buy my X there. Good dealers are hard to find.....though I would also highly recommend Russel BMW in MD (btw their new sales GM lives in my community).

Whatever the loaner car thing is that wouldn't be the only consideration as to what makes a good dealer. I'm personally looking forward to a good experience. So far it's been good.

ahh.. Ulysses is a good guy. By far him and Rey are probably the 2 best sales guys around.. I can't stand Mike R and Anatoly. The first couple times I went to east bay, they gave me the run around even though I was ready to buy. Their lost since I've purchase quite a few cars from the guy who took care of me. (12 BMWs since 95 to be exact...) As for service, I never have had a bad experience with East Bay and everything I've heard or experienced is top notch. Willy the shop foreman is a very good guy and extremely knowleagable. Billy the tech who only work on M cars is also a guru. He's the only guy really that works on my cars. If you see Kevin Dupre when you head back him.. tell him to step up and sell that POS 7 of his! The baby would love my E39!

Consistantly the comments over and over again have not been favorable. I use to take my 7 series in for oil service but never any repairs so i have to admit as of yet i don't have any first hand knowledge about their service so I'm going in with an open mind.

Why did we buy there? #1 We had been in there so much we finally got to know one of the salesmen (Ulysses) and he cut us a decent deal. #2 we are over the hill so much it was for the sake of convienence for service. In any event I am optimistic about the relationship.

Now that I think about it it was Willy who spent an hour helping me out with my voice module connector. I gotta go back and tell him what i found. Thanks for the reminder.

Josh - What SB are you talking about? I am having some problems with my 650i and wondering if this is related to the SB you mentioned in the post. Do you have a link to that SB?

It's actually a pretty common problem Peter. I don't have the SB# with me. Perhaps Barry has it.

Nope no SB information found on the service order. Goes in tomorrow and getting a loaner. (A Yugo) Service adviser said they would have to keep the car 2 to 12 hours to reprogram with the computer. don't know what he means by that but i'll find out.
