really? Where'd you hear that? I would think it's odd if there was a 228i or a 235i. Just sounds weird.
Oh, and in the March 07 issue of Motor Trend there's a full page article on a BMW "Sportvan" called the F5 built off the 5, and an F3 off the 3. They said 2009 for the F5, and 2010 for the F3. But those names aren't final, and I don't think people want cars that sound like keys on a keyboard....

New BMW models coming out will have platform references like F01, F02, and so on, similar to the E92 as an example (they ran out of digits for E platforms). I understand that the space-functional concept (what BMW engineers call a minivan, or people-mover) will be sold as V models, aligned with the X (AWD) and Z (sports).
