The new CTS is pretty good this time, but I doubt it's got anything on the M3 or the RS4.

What does the S4 compete with now? 335i?

I think the S4 is finding itself out of a class since the 335 raised the bar on it and the upcoming M3 will be a notch above the RS4. The CTS is geared, IMO, to compete with the "under 3.0T" 3er, not the 335. I don't know what the hell the IS is suppose to compete with. I parked next to one the other day...small, underpowered and automatic...nice work. As far as the CTS vs M or S you have to slap a V after CTS

I meant CTS-V. It's supposed to be a lot better, but I'm skeptical whether it'll be at the M and RS level. We'll see.

Imo, nothing coming out of Japan is worth looking at these days except for the Vans and SUV's... and the GT-R.

Yeah, V is suppose to have 500-530hp, can't imagine the M/RS edging it too much in a straight line, track of course is a different story.

i saw the ISF at the Taste of Lexus event in the summer. It looked OK and the specs look great, but if it drives like any other Lexus, then it will bomb!!!

When the Lexus IS-F starts winning some comparison tests, then I'll give it a second look. Initial impressions from what I've read shows it to be a good "first" effort, but its still a "first effort". The 8-speed gearbox is pointless, the styling is ridiculous (and quad tailpipes not functional), and it's just not as poised as the German rivals.
