Question what are all the "console button" options for 6er?

So i'm looking for a pre-owned 2005 645 to replace my lemon'd M3. I've noticed that a quick/easy way to tell if a car has all options is to see whether all the optional console buttons are there!

So besides convertible top up/down, park sensors, heated seats, and DTC, what other buttons should there be?

thanks!!

Look up a 645ci on msn autos or some other site to see what options were available in 05. There have been a few changes since then......Phil

Not a whole lot, most 6ers come pretty loaded (of course the std packages: prem/cold/sport). The only options I've seen that weren't so standard was the heads up display. I think you've pretty much nailed it

Word to the wise: definitely get the sport package and a 6spd

IMO, the 6er is one of the slickest Bimmers out...I just love that thing as far as BMW's go. What color are you looking at?

Looking good. Are front plates mandatory out there?.....Phil

Yeah, sadly...or you get a $75.00 fine.....and it is not a secondary offense meaning cops can pull you just for that.

It's law in Texas as well, but I rarely see a front plate on a BMW around here. Cops have much more to do than write no front plate tickets.....Phil

I'm still getting away with it; it's been two years since I pulled the front plate and bracket off on the X (knocks on wood).

I don't think University police can do much either. So many students are from neighbouring no-front-plate states (NC, TN, KY) that a BMW w/o a front plate is nothing out of the ordinary.

As for the option row buttons (I do this for every BMW :p) it appears that heated seats, auto top open/close, PDC, and DTC are the only buttons. This continues to be the case for international 6ers as well. So I guess the extra "space" is normal and can't be filled. On the pre-facelift E60, I remember you could order ventilated and massaging seats in Europe (the former as a Priority One option in the US), and thus there was a lot of extra button space.

However in Europe, you can order Saddle Brown "Exclusive" leather, along with an M steering wheel, soft-close automatic doors, Individual audio system, and leather-stitched dash. BMW in Germany charges 100 EUR for the cupholder though and 380 EUR for wood trim.

perfect, exactly what i wanted to know. thank you!

and yeah i'm looking for a black convertible. definitely going with the auto-box though. (1) i've driven the new automatics in the 335 and love it (2) maybe i'm getting old but i'm just tired of shifting and all the jerking of smg (3) i just want something comfy, that i enjoy to drive, with the top down, that turns persian girls into little puddles when i kick it in beverly hills with my friends

The auto is great...the CEO can't drive a manual so I got the auto. It's great to watch the look on her face when I make the auto behave like a manual. It can be jerky with the sport button engaged and the proper use of the paddle shifters. Either way, you won't be disappointed. Keep us posted.....Phil
