Speaking of iDrive- it's REALLY slow for the first few minutes after starting the engine. Like, takes forever to open up various menu options.

Is this normal? Will upgrading the software to the latest build help much?
You might want to get a software upgrade. The one thing I notice is that voice commands are slow when you first start the car. The iDrive boots up fairly quick. As far as DRL's....I'm not sure if you have to have them programmed by the dealer. I'm not sure what year it became a driver programmable function.....Phil

agreed: voice commands are often super slow.

come to think of it, it's also really slow -- always -- to cycle between the various entertainment sources when I click a programmed steering wheel button to do so.

that said, the car seems blazingly quick at cycling through the various female entertainment sources lol

Nice Marc. I haven't been the biggest fan of the 6ers looks but I must say that after driving a few of them I quite like them.

Are you doing any mods? Some different wheels perhaps?

Hey sorry I didn't get any email notification of new msgs here ......

Kevin I'm with you: since the 6's release back in 04(?) I always called it "the ugliest prettiest car" on the road lol. It's just ... ODD looking lol. But in the past year or so, it's defintiely started growing on me in a sort of "eccentrically beautiful" sorta way.

But, like you, once I drove it, I was instantly sold: totally blown away by everything about it: it's comfort. it's quietness with the top up. it's torquey motor. everything.
