The interior is a definite improvement. I don't like how BMW ditched the red-orange backlighting, but the layout is easy to read, and thankfully BMW has stopped skimping on the instrumentation. (Interesting energy control gauge). The Check Control display in the instrument panel looks really cool too! The wood trim is beautiful and centre stack looks sophisticated and more luxurious without having too many buttons. The Climate automatic looks easier to use and operate.
I can't say the exterior is great though. Certainly, it hasn't been screwed up from the current E65, but it strikes me as odd. Its not "bad" or "great", and I dunno, leaves me puzzled.

Front end blows with the exception of the headlights, interior is really really cool looking, I'd like to hang out in there for a couple days and figure all the 'tronics out

Blech! The exterior doesn't match up well (looks like they designed the front, rear and sides and then added them together, no bueno) The Interior is decent, but now it just looks like every other BMW, I really liked how distinct the outgoing 7 Series's interior was, but I like the new white lighting, much more expensive looking. On another note, the seats do NOTHING for me, they look cheap, don't know why.
I must agree thou, this vehicle is NOTHING when compared to the S550 or even the current A8, sorry but the S's interior is 10-times better all around and the exterior blows the new 7 away And um, it doesn't seem to have any new "gotta have it's" (besides under the hood) I say thumbs down
