Great comments...what about the ride...the runflats? I know coming from vette's that was one area you gained both performance and a better ride if you chose to ditch the runflats...

I think most are using this as their daily, so not having a spare is not a great option. (I didn't get the little mini-spare)

No tire noise like you get with a Vette.. These are a lot quieter than the Goodyear Supercars on my Z.

Tires hooked up impeccably around every corner. Didn't hear any road noise to speak of. I have no issues with the run flats. They were smooth and comfortable. FYI, I did buy the space saver spare.

Oh yeah, the exhaust. Sorry, I skipped over that post.

I thought the exhaust while subtle and muted was actually quite gorgeous. It would actually gurgle at times. As if for no reason the car was saying hello and reminding me that when I wanted to make power, she'd be there for me.

I'm not a particularly big fan of loud obnoxious exhausts. I rarely if ever do exhaust upgrades to my car. The other night I heard some guy whip by me in six series with a flo master and all I could think was, "why would anyone want to have that much noise all the time."

Lets face it, those of us that are buying M's have to realize, this is not a 69 Camaro big block with pulled cats meant to shake the ground.

The ///M sound was there when you wanted to hear it and muted when you didn't. I don't think I would change it for a louder exhaust.

Again, it would be my review that everything this car does it does with class and subtlety. The exhaust is an extension of that philosophy. Why make it any louder than it needs to be? It's not a Harley with short pipes.

Hmmm, maybe my Chevy's have dulled my hearing.

She still sounds a little meek in M-mode for 555hp (for me).

But... I'm not an exhaust mod guy either - so she'll stay stock.

No I agree with you, the sound of the engine is a bit underwhelming. i think the regular 4.8 sound better.

The drivers and passenger seats are sooooo comfortable I can't speak highly enough about them. I'm not crazy about the thigh bolsters but they don't detract from the overwhelmingly comfortable seats.

I have seen few converts on m5board since the X ///M came out. Guys who crtiticized the idea of BMW doing ///M SUV talk differently after a test drive. Some M5 owners are moving to X ///M.
