Carbon Black on brushed HRE p40
My crappy attempt! No photoshop so I....cut and paste, literally, LOL.
Anyways, I am unfortunately a product of my upbringing in California. And although I am in my mid-30s and live in Indiana now, I still have the need to lower my cars, get aftermarket rims, and an obnoxious exhaust to top it off. (My wife won't let me touch her minivan, though =) _Toms If you look from far away its not so bad, ha!

Trips,
That is the most hillbillie photoshop I have every seen ![]() But you are right, from far away, it doesn't look all that bad. The only concern is your scale may be off. I think the wheels you pastes in are 26" to scale. If you really but p40 22" on the SUV, they may look small. Just a thought. But the P40 is my favorite. Have you thought about putting your 215s from your white X5 on the X5M? |

I dont like how the wheels curve outwards instead of inwards. I like your current graphite colored setup much better.

I hope you were not offended by my "hillbilly" comment. Just trying to give you a hard time.
I think the first question is does HRE make the P40 for the X5. The P40 is my favorite wheel. I looked all around to find pictures of it on an X5 and found ZERO except for Photoshop. And I am fairly certain the largest they come in is a 22" so that option would be out anyways. A darker color like the ferric grey may make them look at little bigger than the silver. I decided to go with the ferric grey 215. Matter of fact, just got them in last night. I love the look but they are outrageously heavy. 80lbs a piece! Curious to see if I can feel a performance hit with all of the extra unsprung rotational weight. Not sure how much the original X5M wheel/tire combo weighs. I would consider the P40 in a grey in the near future. Let me know what you find. |

NAh man, no offense at all!
They do make the p40 for SUVs, called the p40L in both 21" and 22". As for color, I'm feelin the brushed look as I've already had ferric on my e70 and have gloss black on the GT-R. I think that the 21" might look decent, especially with a 2" drop. But I may decide to just stick with the stockers for this season. _Tom

Oh no you don't. You are my guinea pig. I need to see what they look like on it. I like the brushed as well. I was looking at a black 997TT with brushed P40 (just like the HRE ad). Decided on the X5M when my wife reminded me that I have a bunch of small cars already. And that some day I may need to carry something larger than a sandwich. Thanks for the info of the P40L.
