So, got a question about my wheels

Hey everyone. Had Ferric Grey 215s put on Friday. Car sat at my in-laws for 2 days, and drove it home (120 miles) on Sunday. Felt a significant amount of vibration between 55-67 MPH. Below and above that, no vibration and smooth ride.

Went and had them re-balance, by road force machine today, and while the vibration is more minimal, still there.

I am curious, what do you all think is the issue? No pot holes, damage anything to the vehicle. Seems like it pulls right more than before. My tire guy (who put the wheels on, and has done multiple cars of mine beautifully) says they went on and balanced beautifully.

I have 3700 miles on vehicle, and 150 miles on new tires and wheels. Any suggestions?

J

Anything unusual about the tires, belt shifted, bubble..did you see them on the balancer to see if they spin true and round? Are they runflats, i f so maybe a sidewall was damaged.

very strange..keep us posted

I assume your tire/wheel guy slow spun the wheel(s) alone, to
check for any unusual run out or eccentricity?

I've had wheel/tire combos that Mandrake the Magician could
not "fix" on any RoadForce machine or method and, we discovered
a wheel with a serious rim radial eccentricity on the slow spin...
Just an idea.

I do not know if he slow spun them. I will ask.

I just may end up driving back tomorrow and having them look.

Do you think alignment is an issue?

Took 3 shots to balance my 215's properly at a very capable shop. They are just big, heavy and tempermental. They really need to take their time. Slow spin is also a good suggestion
