Wow those guys know how to charge

I would also be interested to see the dyno graphs as somebody said most of the tunes you see have a big bang of torque either down low or up high - this does not improve the drivability.

A proper tune should have its power distributed smoothly across the range.

As for the warranty, nobody would ever have to go chasing for a claim as a remap is un-detectable. The main dealer cannot detect a remap unless they remove the chip from the ECU and send it to Bosch to be opened. - It doesn't happen.

It is a popular sales gimmick over here in Europe also with a warranty that matches the Dealers warranty. It is a gimmick.

Sorry to be so abrupt in my first day of this forum!

Aidan

The X6M needs the power increase in the upper rpm range. At about 100 mph the vehicle doesn't have the ability to pull away from other cars that were literally blown away off the line.

That isn't a hp problem, though. It has more to do with the large frontal area, and the 0.38 drag coefficient.

Correct, but its always a HP (and gearing) resolvable problem. Give the X 1000hp and see how fast she pulls from 100mph

I saw a pickup truck run 200mph in the standing mile. Stock Z06 goes about 170 or so in the same distance. Truck looked like a brick. Truck had 1000+ hp to the wheels.

Or one could drive something that isn't quite as much of a brick....

The X5M drag coefficient of 0.38 isn't that 'brick-like'.

My Z06 is .34 Cd by way of comparison.

Believe it or not

It's mostly about (gearing and) HP.

Edit - THIS is brick-like at .54 Cd

Someone below the Mason Dixon line buy this, will ya?

I want to hear first hand impressions before I spend $3K (and can't enjoy it until the snow clears).

Dinan done.

Fortunately getting it for delivery. Butt dyno not available.

Can anyone chime in on how this is?

Just got my M back with the Dinan software and I can't be any happier! The car was definitely lacking in the midrange, an area that this software specifically addresses. I also notice the tranny is behaving better, another early contention of mine. I now have over 20K miles on the car, so plenty of time to expose the M's weaknesses. Dinan hit the nail on the head with this mod!! Highly recommend, even if you don't get the 20% off deal!
