Creating low-mid range power is easy on a factory turbocharged engine (most are mildly tuned/boosted in this area for drivability), however, creating additional top-end power can be very difficult, especially on an engine that's been optimized for top-end/ responsive power. .

The X6M needs the power increase in the upper rpm range. At about 100 mph the vehicle doesn't have the ability to pull away from other cars that were literally blown away off the line.

That isn't a hp problem, though. It has more to do with the large frontal area, and the 0.38 drag coefficient.

Correct, but its always a HP (and gearing) resolvable problem. Give the X 1000hp and see how fast she pulls from 100mph

I saw a pickup truck run 200mph in the standing mile. Stock Z06 goes about 170 or so in the same distance. Truck looked like a brick. Truck had 1000+ hp to the wheels.

The X5M drag coefficient of 0.38 isn't that 'brick-like'.

My Z06 is .34 Cd by way of comparison.

'Brick like' referred to frontal area as well as drag coefficient. Look at your photo of the two vehicles side by side.

Anyway, I think the X5M is a very impressive vehicle. I just think that high speed runs will be naturally limited by the aerodynamics.
