Just got my M back with the Dinan software and I can't be any happier! The car was definitely lacking in the midrange, an area that this software specifically addresses. I also notice the tranny is behaving better, another early contention of mine. I now have over 20K miles on the car, so plenty of time to expose the M's weaknesses. Dinan hit the nail on the head with this mod!! Highly recommend, even if you don't get the 20% off deal!

Is the software the only mod you have?..............Phil

I have the supersprint exhaust as well. Not much else to do for now, but i'm sure more things will be coming down the pike.

$3,500 MSRP for a flash is a bit hard to swallow, even so at 20% off. With that said, I do feel that the X5M needs a little more ooomph in the midrange. Westi, how low is you M dropped?

Didn't drop the M yet. Planning on doing something soon but I here the handling gets a little funky with lowering springs. Any thoughts or suggestions?

I did the H&R springs 2" drop. I really liked the look but the ride was awful. It wasn't the stiffness as much as the rebound in the rear. IND also lowered Trips and an X6M in Chicago. Both of them have no issues. The rebound would cause the rear passengers to bounce in the air over bumps. It also caused the truck to be very unsettled when it it bumps in high load corners.

I saw that H&R is also offering a 1.2" drop. Thought that this would be the better option to retain the ride quality, but I am a big fan of a lowered car. Always looks nice when the wheels are stuffed in the wells!

I like a moderate drop on all my cars, just don't know if it's worth a bother to do 1.2" on an SAV. I was over at Gintani in Van Nuys, they had an '11 X5M with their own ecu flash upgrade and dropped on 2" H&R. I test drove it for a couple miles and definitely felt a difference in the midrange, springs felt like stock but I also did not have a chance to push her through bumps or hard corners where, from opinion, they tend to perfom unsatisfactorily, particularly the rear suspensions.

Sorry, it is a re-post but I could not find which thread it was located.

First is stock. Second is 2" drop. When looked at together the drop looks really low. In real life it does look better than stock.
