330 ZHP and folks who have done this retrofit, I just purchased a set of these lights on eBay. They are ECE pattern, so will be curious to see how they compare to our DOT pattern (there's been discussion on DOT vs ECE for years)
Anyway, in another thread you mentioned you had two wires coming into the interior that you didn't know what to do with - a black/green, black/blue). Did you end up just taping those back, or did you find where they went? You also noted the Adaptive Cornering Control (I believe that is when the foglight comes on?) something to do with SA524 which is the option code for Adaptive COrnering...did you get that sorted out? I have a 2012 X6, which I believe has a FRM 3, so I should be good with not having to replace it. Chris Last edited by Chris F.; 02-02-2015 at 11:53 PM. |

I did just tape off the unneeded wires.
I do not know about the differences for the light patterns for the E70 LED headlights specifically. My guess is the defined (__// up to the right light spread???) For the X6M and X5m there isn't any foglights - so the adaptive movement is within the headlights and is controlled under $524 for the xenon light housings. Once you add $552 and remove $524 and $522 in the VO the coding is complete. This is of course after you have properly installed the harness and you have the latest FRM3. My X5 is a mid 2012 build and I had to replace my FRM with the last version and code it with the VO. Only then would everything work 100% properly. Please provide the part number of your FRM3 mine had the 252 part number and I had to swap in the 375 part number 01 Footwell module 3 1 04/2013 61359287252 ENDED 01 Footwell module 3 1 61359308375

btw - the adaptive headlight on the E7x only controls light movement based on load on the vehicle and the direction of the steering input...
It is NOT the later (first avail on 7er) control over the lighting to place oncoming traffic in a "blind spot" of lighting

OK an update here.....Houston, we have a problem!
![]() So the headlights I purchased via eBay are ECE pattern - I'm perfectly fine with that, however the seller does NOT know if they came from a LHD or RHD vehicle. Obviously that is a problem, as I'm not sure if they are usable in the US. Here is the link to the auction 2013 2014 BMW x6 E71 LCI Pair Set Left Right Adaptive LED Headlight Assembly | eBay Part #s off the pics are 7 277 453 7 277 454 I can't find these part numbers anywhere online. RealOEM shows nothing. Might have to throw the towel in on this one. ![]() Chris P.S. 330ZHP, thanks so much for your responses, I will follow up once I sort this issue out. I was told you could program a older FRM3 and 'fool' it to thinking its a newer production car in order to get the programming to work? Hmmm. |

Well, nevermind, seller found a set of DOT headlights (so bizarre this seller has multiple pairs, did they fall off a truck? heh) and is shipping those instead.
So all is well. Still curious 330ZHP if you are aware of changing the production date in the FRM3 - I was told this would allow the programming to work on LEDs without issue. Chris |

I have not heard of that "trick"
But I feel like in the coding you could program LHD or RHD
