Retrofit LED headlights?
Has anyone done this/attempted to do this?
The new LED headlights look amazing, and was wondering how hard of a diy this would be and what you'd need? Thanks |
interesting idea... i'd like to see how it develops...

I have my doubts a retrofit would be feasible since the actual housing is different. Unless your talking about a direct replacement of the whole light assembly. That will probably be very expensive either way.

BMW EU has stated a retro fit kit will be available, it is currently 20 to 25 weeks out, and on my watch list. From what I've seen on the kit it will be fairly in depth including new headlights, wiring harnesses, and fuses/relay boxes. Coding my also be required.

Ask and you shall receive!!!! |
Any updates on this???

It is already done but the price is $5000. Direct fit from X6

I found a pair of 2013 X5M OEM headlights for a smoking deal but I was unsure it they would plug and play. I called my bmw parts manager and he said you would need a new harness as well coded it to the ecu to allow the LEDS to be recognized.
