2004 E83 X3 Aux Input question

Hi guys,

Read a couple of DIYs, should be straightforward to install the Aux Input.

The question is brand:
- BMW 82110149390: about $30-$35 or so. I will likely go with factory part.

- However, ebay etc. also lists some for $8-$10. I suspect these are Chinese parts. Are these OK or should I stay away from?

Don’t bother with the factory aux it’s terrible on the early models, the volume is way too quiet. At full volume with windows down you can’t even hear the radio. I bought an eBay one and then an oem one both the same problem, ended up getting the factory iPod hook up and it works AMAZING great sound and quality. If your not an iPod user grom audio makes a good aux input

Thanks for the replies...

I happened to install the factory Aux Input ($32 at BMW dealer).
To avoid static noise, you need to turn the volume up on the MP3 player (iPhone, iPod, Samsung phone etc.), then play with the radio volume later...

Just in case people aren't aware, if you go into the settings menu while the AUX is selected , there is an option to increase the line volume.

My ipod was very quiet until I adjusted the line volume setting and now it's equivalent to the radio volume.

Thanks,

Just discovered this.
See RED arrow, this is where you increase the Aux Line Output Volume.
