I have no clue what time I will run. Sometimes the club runs timed runs in the morning and practice in the afternoon (don't ask... it doesn't make sense to me either) and sometimes vice versa. What time I run will be determined by the organizers. When you register you are given a color sticker. The color corresponds to your run group. The group order is random. There is no admission charge... it is free to watch. The up side is there will be some very nice BMW's there!!!

I should be easy enough to find... I will be the only SAV there (probably)

Now if I can just keep the tires on the rims and the shiny side up, we should be in good shape!!!

I strongly encourage everybody to go see the action! The BMW Club is a great place to meet and talk about our cars with other enthusiasts. The people who attend these events are all really cool and fun to be around.

I hope to see you there!

Where is this listed as an event for Feb. 26th?

Thanks.

It seems like I will be the first person to try autocrossing an X3. That makes me either a pioneer or a moron. The line blurs on occasion...

What I can tell already is that at 4,000 lbs the X3 will be no Lotus Elise. However with awd I should be able to get power down early and hard. Understeer should be the predominant cornering attitude, while grip levels from the all season Michelins should be low.

I think I will start with tires at 40psi front and 44psi rear. DSC off obviously...

Other than that, I just can't think of anything else mechanical to do, other than check the oil.

Any other suggestions?

I have absolute faith in your abilities, R. There have been a couple of guys who have either auto-x or tracked their X5's so I know your X3 can handle it. Your skills behind the wheel of the X3 will put some to shame.

I'd come out but it's the wife's b-day weekend so... I can't make it.

Thanks for the vote of confidence Kevin! It will be an interesting learning experience!

Funny how those wife people demand we spend time with them on special occasions, isn't it?

I have to go... I am a member of the auto-x committee and one of the key workers. Besides, I am anxious to try the X3 on the auto-x track. The weather should be beautiful and the event should be wonderful! By all means go!

White05X3,

Will I have to pay the event "fee" ($65) to watch? I've been to solo2 events and anyone could park and watch. Is it the same with BMWCCA events?
