Bmw Buy Back My X3

Any advice on how to approach BMW to buy back my X3? Its a 2005 and not quite a year old and I have had many different things go wrong with the vehicle. I just want to transfer the balance of my loan to another BMW. I am not happy with the quality of the X3.

I have had it in twice for rattling windows, instrument cluster replaced, leaking radiator, seat material cracking.

All items were replaced under warranty but that is not enough. Too many problems on a vehicle this new

I have received no responce from BMW or the dealership.

Any advice would be helpful.

Well, the only thing I could tell you is hire a lawyer, but it doesn't sound like your X3 is a lemon so it's pretty much "tough sh*t" for you. Sorry to hear you're having problems.

However, it seems like you want to trade in your X3 for another BMW so they are "buying back" your X3. They'll make you an offer on it and you move from there. I just hope you're not upside down on the loan (owe more than the X3 is worth).

No I would not be upside down a trade it would pay off the X3 but I would be out a years worth of payments. The deal on a new BMW is the problem I got such a good deal on the X3 no can come close to the same terms on a new BMW longer term, rate and payment.

Have you looked into outside financing? Might get a better rate.

In Canada, we can just walk -in and talked the sales into a new deal such as 330i and then tell him you want to transfer to old lease such as yr X3 into the new vehicle. The salesperson will calculate your car value and how much money you owe BMW. For example, your car worth 30000 but you owe BMW 37000, then they will transfer the $7000 into the new vehicle price. Just so you know, you owe always > your car, so you are losing money for sure.
It looks like your X3 is a Lemon to me, I dont have any problem like that and so do the other owners. The only common problem I heard of is that the Windshield is pretty weak and crack very easy.

Okay everyone, this does not make the vehicle a "lemon" (at least in California).

California Lemon Law: The law requires that if the manufacturer or its representative in this state, such as an authorized dealer, is unable to service or repair a new motor vehicle to meet the terms of an express written warranty after a reasonable number of repair attempts, the manufacturer is required promptly to replace the vehicle or return the purchase price to the lessee or buyer.

If they are UNABLE to repair the problems is when the law may apply...

So you just want to move away from the X3 onto another BMW right?
check other local dealers see if they are willing to help you out, if you are willing to buy they are always willing to sell.

Your experiences do not quite reach the level of a lemon. The dealer has a reasonable number of attempts to repair a problem (usually 3, unless safety related). An additional basis for a lemon law buy back is if the car has spent more than 30 days in service. The defect must represent a substantial loss of use, value or safety. Unfortunately it does not sound like any of your issues are safety or value issues. Sorry but I would not expect BMW to buy your car back.
