OEM Alarm

I ordered the X3 alarm from Pacific BMW and installed it myself. I have to say it was fairly easy. The most difficult part was mounting the siren. Now I have to take it to the $tealer and have them program it. Pacific BMW is selling the alarm for the X3 at 187.00, so it was a good deal. The insructions I printed out from X3 world is what enabled me to do it. What a great site this is!!!!

How much will the program from the $tealer be?

It will cost probably between 50.00 and 60.00 to have it porgrammed. To purchase the alarm and have it installed by the $stealer was going to cost 457.00, so I figured I saved about 200.00 by installing it myself.

Didn't your X3 come with a factory alarm? I thought they all did???

They only come with the clown nose. Even the Homelink transmitter is an option. I've complained to the BMW design team about this and few other items.

Yeah......it sucks, but it come pre-wired for the thing, so it is all plug and play.

Congrats, Matt. I bought the alarm for about the same price and I also installed it myself. I agree that the siren part was the most difficult (although still not too hard at all), and somewhat time-consuming.

Yeah.........it took me about 2 1/2 hours to get it all done, but all worth it.
